Technical Counter (テクニカルカウンタ, Tekunikarurukaunta^?), or TC for short, is a gameplay mechanic exclusive to Tales of Hearts R.

Function

Technical Counter is a supplementary stat to TP, similarly to Assault Counter seen in Tales of Xillia and its sequel, responsible for performing artes in a combo. Once TC reaches 0, artes can no longer be performed in a combo, but other actions can still be performed, making it a less restrictive system than AC. TC will soon recover after a while, and its maximum value can be increased. Several skills improve TC in general, like Combo Voltage, which grants 2 TC after performing a 12-hit combo or Exceed, and its upgraded forms, which increase a character's maximum TC by 1.
