Exceed (エクシード, Ekushiido^?), also localized as Assault, is a recurring skill in the Tales series.

Arte Description and History

In general, Exceed increases the maximum value of the replacement or complimentary stat to TP. In the remakes of Tales of Destiny and in Tales of Graces, Exceed increases maximum CC by 1 point. In Tales of Hearts R, it increases the maximum TC, and the first level is instead named Exceed 1 (エクシード１^?). In Tales of Xillia, it is localized as "Assault" and increases the character's maximum AC. In Tales of Xillia and Tales of Xillia 2, it is also the name of an accessory that provides the same AC-increasing effect when equipped. In Tales of Zestiria, it is localized as Ekseed and increases the number of artes that can be used in a combo, up to a maximum increase of 4.

In Tales of Hearts R and Tales of Xillia, it comes with two more variations that have the same effect: Assault 2 (エクシード２, Ekushiido 2^?, "Exceed 2") and Assault 3 (エクシード３, Ekushiido 3^?, "Exceed 3") that are cumulative but have increased cost required to equip it.

In Last Cloudia, Stahn Aileron has a skill called Device: Exceed (デバイス：エクシード, Debaisu: Ekushiido^?), based on the Swordian Device.
