Execution (エクセキューション Ekusekyuushon?) is an advanced Dark-elemental spell that debuted in Tales of Destiny 2.
Arte Description and History
When used, the spell summons a magic circle onto the ground in front of the target, releasing a current of dark energy that lifts enemies within range. A second magic circle then appears in the air behind them, trapping them in the center. Finally, energy coalesces in the middle and strikes down with dark lightning. In Tales of Destiny 2, it can be extended into the mystic arte Luna Shade. Depending on difficulty level and fight, Barbatos Goetia can use it to counter either item use or healing magic.

Execution as it appears in Tales of Arise.
In Tales of Arise, four spirals of Dark astral energy sprout from the ground and rise up to the sky. A giant beam of energy crushes the enemy before the energy then rises up, forming a cross as the enemy is relentlessly launched into the air.
In Tales of the Rays, this arte is also Light-elemental, and has two master spells, depending on the user: when used as the fourth or later action in a chain by Harold Berselius, it alters to Execution Ortho, while when used as the fifth or later action in a chain or during Burst Limits by Dohalim il Qaras, it alters to Verus Execution.
In the collaboration event with Kai-Ri-Sei Million Arthur, Barbatos uses an unnamed version of Execution, when he punches the ground and summons a magic circle onto the ground in front of the target, before a second magic circle appears in the air above the party, damaging them.
In Tales of Link, an enemy unit of Barbatos uses a variant called Beheading Execution (断罪のエクセキューション Danzai no Ekusekyuushon?). This arte's naming is similar to the quote Barbatos speaks when using the Execution spell in Destiny 2, and is even used in one of his playable units in Tales of Asteria.
